Kind to the little, kind to the planet.
MATERIALS
Each piece is consciously crafted in sustainable fabrics, striking a balance between durable and comfortable with nature inspired palettes. Little Kind currently switches between two materials; muslin and linen.
The muslin we use is certified in accordance with the Global Organic Textiles Standard. GOTS is an internationally recognised standard that advocates an environmentally compatible and social production chain for textiles. In this process, GOTS doesn’t just focus on sustainable production but establishes stringent regulations and directives for all operations along the creation chain. With this stamp of approval you can be assured that the materials you are purchasing are free of toxic or environmentally harmful substances, use less water and give off up to 94% less greenhouse gas emissions. They inspect companies yearly to confirm everything is being produced fairly. The farmers themselves decide on their own seeds and cultivation. The land therefore remains fertile for longer and ensures that farmers can support themselves.
For the rest of our garments we use 100% pure linen which has been given the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX. This is one of the world’s best-known labels for textiles tested for harmful substances, a good one to look out for when purchasing for your little ones. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety so you can be sure that you’re clothing those you love in materials that would never put their well being or the environment at risk.
MANUFACTURING
Although inspiration sometimes travels far we wanted to manufacture locally in London where all our designing takes place. It's important for us to improve our carbon footprint and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Our London based factory minimises transportation miles by working with sustainable fabrics that are knitted/woven in the UK. They guarantee their team are kept on a competitive fair wage for their hard work and use a number of practices to ensure they are being as eco-friendly as possible. For fabrics they use digital lay plans which calculate the best possible usage, keeping waste to a minimum. With any left over material we make scrunchies putting every last piece to good use.
PACKAGING
Little Kind packaging products are eco-friendly to ensure we provide our customers with an unboxing experience that isn’t tarnished by excessive amounts of non-recyclable plastic.
Each component has been carefully selected. Our brand stickers are made with acid free paper, soy-based inks and are FSC Certified meaning they’re 100% compostable. The tissue paper and box mailers are both recycled and recyclable. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators - it conserves natural resources and prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials. Instead of making something new - we’re taking something already in circulation to give it a second life!
